Onsite Classes
The ActivInspire Foundation Series is designed with the needs of classroom teachers in mind. During each class, participants will be shown best practice examples from the core content areas, receive direct instruction on how to use each tool, participate in strategy discussion, and then be given guided practice time to create and share their own lesson pages. The ActivInspire Foundation Series is divided into four classes:
Class 1: Basic Interaction
This four-hour workshop is designed to teach educators the basic features of the hardware and begin to integrate ActivInspire tools with existing curriculum. Participants will learn how to create interactive lessons using basic tools, import PDF/PowerPoint files, link to educational websites and download and manipulate pre-made lessons from Promethean Planet.

Full Day or Half-Day Options
All of the above courses can be combined into full or half day workshops. We also offer custom full or half-day options specifically designed to meet the needs of the participants.

Series II
This three-part, webinar course is a continuation to ActivInspire Online Series I. Participants will explore intermediate tools and techniques available in the software. Participants will receive lesson examples using the tools and will be ready to create flipchart lessons that get kids up and using the ActivBoard.
Class 1: Shapes, Pull tabs & Math Tools
This session will demonstrate how to use the Shape’s tool. Learn about Pull Tabs and how they help control the flow of information during a lesson. Learn how to download and install FREE Resource Packs. Explore and learn the tips and tricks to using ActivInspire’s math tools.
Class 2: Mystery Boxes & Customizing
Learn how to create a mystery box that engages students by pulling things magically from an object. This class will also introduce how to customize toolboxes by adding and deleting various tools to the Main Toolbox as well as adding more colors to the color palette.
Class 3: Magic Ink & Text Tools
This course will introduce the Magic Ink tool and show examples of how to use it. Download and use Magic Revealers to give objects in your lesson the illusion of seeing right through them. Explore text options like the Tickertape and the Extract text tool for creating cloze tool activities.
Series III
This three-part, webinar course is the last in the ActivInspire Online Series. Participants continue to learn more interactive tools and see examples of how these tools work within lessons. Series III looks at sound and video as well as some advanced techniques that allow students to self-check learning.
Class 1: Actions Made Easy
ActivInspire offers multiple ways to make objects such as text or pictures have action within your flipchart. This class will introduce you to the basics of creating and implementing actions as well as offer some universal action templates to use in flipcharts.
Class 2: Sound & Video in Flipcharts
Explore the use of sound and video within ActivInspire, See how easy it is for students to record their own learning using audio and/or video. Record your lessons and post to a website. Ideas and ways to integrate media will be discussed and shared.
Class 3: Containers & Flash
Learn how to create Containers and Restrictors the easy way in ActivInspire. Download and use container templates that help you create flipchart lessons that allow students to self-check learning. Learn how to add flash animation to flipcharts.

Class 2: Intermediate Interaction
This four-hour workshop is designed to teach beyond the basics of the ActivInspire software. Participants will see examples and learn about ActivInspire’s most popular tools including the Drag a Copy and the Camera Tool. Knowledge of ActivInspire’s layering capabilities will be introduced and participants will create a Mystery Box to demonstrate their knowledge. Participants will also learn how to begin customizing the software to meet their classroom needs including creating a Student Profile.
Class 3: Multimedia and Actions
This four-hour workshop examines the video, sound and action capabilities of the ActivInspire software. Participants will see lesson examples and learn how to add basic actions to lessons. In addition, this class will explore the video and sound features of the software including how to record your own sounds and/or capture video of your flipchart.
Class 4: Containers, Restrictors and More
This four-hour workshop explores the use of containers and restrictors within the ActivInspire software. Participants will create lessons where students can drag answers to an area of the page. If the answer is incorrect, the object will bounce back giving them instant feedback on their answer. Additionally, participants will learn how to create a cloze activity and add flash objects to flipcharts.
Webinar Classes
A series designed for teachers interested in maximizing the use of their Promethean ActivBoards, the ActivInspire Online Series will provide the knowledge and ideas for integrating the ActivBoard into existing curriculum. Each session covers software foundation skills, best practice examples that include techniques for engaging students, as well as time to practice the skills learned. There are three series to choose from and each series consists of three, hour and half webinar courses.
Series I
This three-part, webinar course introduces participants to the beginner tools and features of ActivInspire software. Participants will learn how to use basic tools to create interactive lessons that “reveal” information to students. Popular lesson tools will be introduced and participants’ will see many classroom examples of these tools being used.
Class 1: Getting Started
Getting started is easy! Learn how to use basic tools from the Main Toolbox to create activities that get students up and using the ActivBoard. Import PDF files into flipcharts and make them interactive. Explore the Resource Library and the many Promethean Planet lessons available online.
Class 2: Using Outside Resources
This session will demonstrate how easy it is to use resources located outside ActivInspire software. Explore Annotate Over Desktop, and learn how to link to other files on your computer as well as websites. Import a student profile and discuss reasons for using different profiles when teaching.
Class 3: Camera Tool & Drag a Copy
This session will introduce two very popular tools and examples of them being used in flipcharts. See how easy and useful the Camera Tool can be in helping gather images from your computer and the web. Use the Drag a Copy tool to create manipulatives for students to use when up at the ActivBoard.
