Below are some of the great features available when using ActivInspire with Promethean’s Learner Response Systems:
Word Seeding
Imagine a class reading the novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and the following question is posed, "Why does Twain use a child as the center of consciousness in this book?" Students can text in their answers using the ActivExpression device. When all students have responded, the teacher can click the Word Seed option which takes all student's responses and turns them into text boxes. These text boxes are displayed in the lesson and students can now view everyone's answers visually. Real-time feedback can now be easily manipulated and moved around for further discussion. Equation Editor
ActivInspire v1.6 now includes support for mathematical equations. Use the equation editor to add mathematical equations into a lesson or respond to complex math problems using ActivExpression2. Note, not available for ActiVote.
Self Pace Learning
Self-Paced Learning provides teachers with real time, immediate response from each student per question. Students work at their own pace to answer questions that are programmed in advance. Questions can even be randomized so that two students sitting next to each other don't see the same question. Students visually see each question on their ActivExpression device. As students answer questions at their own pace, the teacher can preview how each student is doing and apply immediate intervention to support individuals who need help. In addition, questions can be set up in levels allowing the teacher to increase the difficulty. When the class is finished taking the test, results can be exported to an Excel document with one click of a button. Note, not available for ActiVote.
